Cloud & Hyperscale — Density Upgrades at Scale

A hyperscale hall does not buy racks, it buys repeatability: thousands of positions that arrive identical, on a schedule a program office can plan around. The compliance clock is now public — under EU Directive (EU) 2023/1791, data centres of 500 kW IT power and up report energy KPIs annually (first filings were due 15 May 2024), and from 1 January 2025 PUE measurement is mandatory across the bloc. Against that, large halls still average PUE 1.44 (Uptime Institute, 2025). The US market alone is forecast to grow from 2.67 million racks in 2025 to 5.86 million by 2031 — 14% CAGR by unit count. RackForge answers with one punching program, one coating batch, CKD packing that cuts about 40% of shipping volume, and a 30-day FOB cycle that repeats per release.

Six commitments that make a thousand racks one order

Volume procurement fails on variance and logistics, not on sheet steel. These six items are written into the RackForge supply agreement the way a hyperscaler writes them into an RFP — as checkable commitments, each with a number attached.

CKD flat-pack export packing — racks ship knocked down on the same punching program, cutting roughly 40% of container volume against fully-assembled crating; a 40' HC takes 24–28 racks.

−40% volume

Batch-to-batch consistency — every release runs the same CNC program and coating bath, with dimensional audit at ±0.1 mm; wave 12 installs like wave 1.

±0.1 mm

Repeatable lead time — a sample in 15 days, then production in 30 days FOB per scheduled release, so row build-outs track the deployment calendar instead of the quote queue.

15 / 30 days

EED reporting support — containment is the physical lever behind the PUE figure reported for sites of ≥500 kW: measured case, uncontained 1.84 → contained 1.65, temperate climate.

Anchor-order pricing — a volume anchor order locks the SKU, revision and price; later releases draw against it with MOQ 5 per call-off, no re-quoting per wave.

MOQ 5

Per-hall spare-parts kits — door hardware, brush cartridges, blanking panels and grounding jumpers sized to the hall's rack count, shipped with the last release.

Two baseline SKUs, one thousand positions

The hyperscale baseline is a 42U, 600 × 1200 mm frame for mainstream compute and an 800 mm-wide 48U for the dense end of the hall — most deployed racks still sit in the 10–30 kW band (Uptime Institute, 2025), with headroom to 40 kW air-cooled where GPU nodes land.

What a hyperscale program buys from this line

Three product families carry a volume deployment — the frame, the aisle boundary and the contract line for everything that is not a catalog rack.

Standard Server Racks 42U–52U

The volume SKU: 1,500 kg static load, 600/800 mm widths, mesh or solid doors, tool-free bayning — quoted per release with samples in 15 days.

  • 42U / 48U / 52U heights, mm + inch datasheets
  • CKD flat-pack, 24–28 racks per 40' HC
  • 30-day FOB production per release
Standard racks →

Cold Aisle Containment

Doors, roof panels and sealing on the rack's own 600 mm module — the measured lever behind a reported PUE, from 1.84 uncontained to 1.65 contained.

  • Contained leakage 3–10%, under 1% with full kit
  • FA release under 3 seconds
  • Drop-away fire panels below 72°C

Sheet Metal OEM/ODM

Contract sheet metal on the same six-process line: laser, punch, bend, weld, coat, assemble at ±0.1 mm — for the brackets, troughs and custom frames an RFP always adds.

  • SPCC/SGCC 0.8–3.0 mm, SUS304 and aluminum
  • Drawing NDA, DFM feedback in 48 hours
  • First-article CMM report per batch
Sheet metal OEM →
Brushed steel texture

Wave one should look exactly like wave twelve.
